Why Our Program?

With small program sizes and such a unique location, students receive individualized attention in the classroom setting, while engaging with the natural world around them. Referencing the now abundant body of research showing the benefits of nature on academic performance, we’ve designed a program that leverages Daufuskie’s environmental and cultural heritage, as well as proven SAT instruction, to maximize student engagement and achievement.

Why Our Island?

On Daufuskie, learning naturally extends beyond the classroom. Accessible only by boat, Daufuskie’s remote location is home to an eclectic community - families that have lived on the island for over 100 years, world renowned artists and musicians, sports legends, and everyone in between. Without giving up the conveniences of the digital age, stepping off the boat onto the island is like stepping back into a simpler time. Our community is friendly and safe, proud of its rich Native American and Gullah heritage, and mindful of the natural beauty of Daufuskie.
